The company provides high quality compost to top soil manufacturers, and superior top soil capable of being used in all sectors of landscaping.  All composts and soils are backed up with a full analysis and have a high nutrient content, eliminating the need for any fertiliser applications for growing grass and shrubs.  Fertiliser prices have more than doubled in the last year, and Nutramulch’s compost is worth around £12.00 per tonne in basic fertiliser value, with the added benefit of supplying a whole host of other trace elements, organic matter, liming and fungicidal effects, as well as suppressing slug activity.  Up to 50,000 tonnes of compost, soil improvers and top soils are produced each year by treating organic waste and results from field trials have proved outstanding.  The government’s PAS100 standard label provides assurance and confidence to the waste producers and the compost users alike. Waste Types:- The facilities attract many different waste streams, most of which currently go to landfill or have previously been applied directly to land. The suppliers of the waste are mainly made up of the large blue chip waste management companies, and Nutramulch are constantly looking for new suppliers of waste material to meet the ever-increasing demand for their products. The waste comes from an assortment of sources: - Civic amenity sites - Material recycling facilities - Direct from manufacturing (liquids and solids) - Direct from various processing facilities - Biological treatment plants - Other local authority processes - Demolition The solid waste percentage can be made up of both organic and mineral waste streams, and includes: - All wood waste, including MDF, chipboards and off cuts - Green waste from CA sites - Waste pallets and packaging - Clay slurries - Drilling mud - Various other mineral wastes The specification of the end product determines what ingredients are suitable for blending into the composting process. This is controlled through the strict adherence to the acceptance criteria. The tests include:   - Low levels of potentially toxic elements such as heavy metals. - Levels of physical contaminants such as glass, metal and plastics below set criteria. - pH levels within set criteria. - Advantageous levels of nutrients and/or minerals like N, P, k and calcium etc. - Passing trial period.
