Scottish landfill sites to be restored

Posted on Tuesday, 19 May 2009 09:09AM by
Two landfill sites in Scotland are to be restored to minimise the environmental harm they cause.  Funding of £15m has been granted by Aberdeen City Council for the regeneration of historically contaminated landfill sites, and the Ness Farm and Tullos Hill sites will both be restored as part of the council’s policy.

The restoration will provide a recreational and wildlife area, and work will be carried out to meet Sepa requirements.
